My story starts from very humble beginnings.
Hi, I'm Marc
Both of my biological parents struggled with addiction, so I spent 13 years in foster care before being adopted by a family in one of the poorest towns in America. I self-funded my way through college with odd jobs and student aid, then landed one of 25 spots nationwide in Vanguard's management training program, the world's largest mutual fund company.
At Vanguard, I managed 529 education savings accounts for over 6 years, helping thousands of families navigate college planning long before I ever thought about "financial coaching" as a job. In this role I learned about all the 529 strategies and rules that most of society never learned about!
But even with that expertise and a $50,000 salary, I was still living paycheck to paycheck and drowning in debt, because knowing the products isn't the same as knowing how to manage your own money.
